What is a MLM Line of Sponsorship?

What is a MLM line of sponsorship? The easiest way to think of a MLM line of sponsorship is to compare it to a family tree. Within each network marketing company, there are typically 1-10 initial distributors. All other distributors in the organization are downline from these initial distributors.
An example of a MLM line of sponsorship would start with the company. Let’s suppose Jim is the initial distributor. He sponsors Sally who sponsors Tony. And Tony sponsors Mark. All of these distributors are in Jim’s line of sponsorship. Another way to explain your line of sponsorship is to identify your sponsor, their sponsor, their sponsor and so forth, all the way up to the initial distributor.
Other buzzwords that you should know that relate to a line of sponsorship include:
Sponsor: The person who introduces you to the business and signs you up into the business.
Upline: This includes your sponsor, their sponsor and so forth, all the way up your family tree.
Downline: This includes the people you sponsor, the people they sponsor and so forth, all the way down your organization.
Crossline: These are people that are not in your line of sponsorship. For instance, if your sponsor sponsors five people, and you are one of them, the other four people are crossline from you and are not in your line of sponsorship. Does that make sense?
Whenever you have a question or concern, you should always ask your upline. And when possible, you should never send negative thoughts or vibes to your downline. I’ve also found that it’s not always good to get business advice from crossline, since they don’t have a vested interest in your business.
Choosing a good line of sponsorship is vital for your MLM success. Make sure you do your homework and find a successful sponsor, and upline, before you join a business opportunity. You want to ensure they have systems and procedures in place that can help you achieve success with your business.
