What are the Odds of MLM Success?

I get this question from time to time. People frequently ask me, Chuck “What are the odds of me achieving success in MLM?” They act as if their odds of achieving success are dictated by the lottery, or something out of their control. This question is just like asking “What are the odds of me getting a raise at work?” In both examples, there are no odds. Your outcome is dictated by your performance, not some odds. Does that make sense?
It’s a proven fact that 4 out of 5 businesses fail in the first five years. This applies to businesses from every industry. More importantly, nearly 70% of the people, who die in America each year, don’t have enough money saved to pay for their funeral costs. And to top things off, nearly 97% of the people who join our industry quit.
Although I don’t know the exact statistics, you could also argue that (1) most marriages fail, (2) most weight loss plans fail, (3) most people don’t save enough for retirement, and (4) most people quit their New Year’s resolutions within 30 days. As you can see, most people don’t achieve their goals. Once again, this has nothing to do with odds. Instead, it has everything to do with performance.
Your success in network marketing is dictated by your performance, nothing else. That means you must develop the right skills and mindset, before you can achieve success. All top earners (in any industry) are students of their business. They are extremely committed to developing their skills and increasing their value. And they make a long-term commitment to their goal. They don’t try it for 60 days and give up. You should adopt a similar approach in your network marketing business.
There are no odds of success in network marketing. Your success has everything to do with your performance. And your performance is dictated by your (1) mindset, (2) attitude, (3) knowledge, (4) work ethic and (5) persistence. If you develop the right skills and mindset, you will eventually succeed in our industry.
