Training for MLM

What is training for MLM? And is training really that important? To answer that question for you, yes it is very important. I’ve found that all successful entrepreneurs are students of their business. They are very dedicated to learning new things that will help them succeed. As a result, they read books, subscribe to trade journals, attend seminars, and associate with other successful entrepreneurs.

In fact, training is a multi-billion dollar business. Each year corporations spend billions of dollars in attempt to train and motivate their employees. These corporations understand the importance of continuing education. So should you! In addition, the top earners in this industry usually become successful because they have committed to life-long learning. They’re very focused on learning new things that will help improve and grow their business. And if they do it, so should you!

What should you study? At a minimum, I would study the following subjects:

• Lead Generation

• Online Marketing Strategies

• MLM Trends

• Retailing Tips

• Tips from Top Earners

• Sponsoring Techniques

• Communication

• Leadership Training

• Relationship Building

• The Art of Persuasion

One great way to do this is to study other successful network marketers. Some of the best people to study include Mike Dillard, Mark Yarnell, Jeff Roberti and Bill Britt. These gentlemen all built huge MLM Empires. But even if you choose to study someone else, that’s okay. After all, most top earners possess similar traits, work ethics, and leadership skills.

Where can you get training for MLM? Well, you can subscribe to newsletters. You can visit some of the industry leaders’ websites and subscribe to their online newsletter or email series. That’s a good starting point.

Another great thing to do is to attend seminars. There are several “generic MLM training” seminars worth attending. Some of the industry leaders provide world class MLM training seminars where you can learn their cutting edge secrets and tips. I’d recommend you attend at least one seminar each year. Even if you learn just one good idea, the seminar will pay for itself.

Additionally, many MLM Companies host a yearly conference or extravaganza. These events can be very educational. Although they tend to be motivational by nature, there is plenty of great information shared by the top earners. You can get good training for MLM at these events.

Another way to get training for MLM is to find a mentor. You can find a successful distributor in your upline, or even from a different company. The two of you could talk once a week or even once a month. You could write down 5-20 questions ahead of time, and have the person share some helpful ideas with you. This is a great way to learn new tips and techniques.

Another great way to get training for MLM is to read books. There are plenty of great books and eBooks out there with some great information. Personally, I spend at least $50 to $100 every month on books. I take it very seriously. Most of the things I’ve learned in this industry come from books or eBooks. You can also purchase audio programs. You can listen to these in your car, on your way to and from each work each day.

I think the best idea is to form a mastermind team. In other words, you could form a group of 8-20 successful distributors, from different companies, and share ideas. People can share what is working well for them and what isn’t. As long as all the participants have the group’s best interest in mind, a mastermind team is a great way to get training for MLM.

In conclusion, training for MLM is essential if you want to build a large network marketing business. You must get very serious about lifelong learning and you must make a lasting commitment to learn something new each day. By doing so, you will learn new skills and grow your business. However, please keep in mind that the real key to your success is APPLIED KNOWLEDGE. If you never apply what you learn, your business won’t grow.
