Here is a tip to being a stress-free hostess at your next party. Simply throw two! That may sound like more work, but it really isn’t. What is the main source of stress at any party you throw (other than remembering that you invited your boss)? It is the menu.

If you host two parties at the same time, one of them can be food and the menu is no longer a source of stress. You can host for a representative from a food provider such as Tastefully Simple or Bodega Chocolates or the like so that your guests can munch on their food while looking over the jewelry, cosmetics or Tupperware that the other representative is showing.

Be sure to let the sales representatives know about the arrangement before the day of the party just to be polite, but expect that it will be good news to him or her. Most representative not only do not mind this “double hosting”, and a lot even encourage it. A few that I have met don’t want to do a party any other way because they are already comfortable: they know that a stress-free hostess is a good hostess, and that happy, well-fed customers buy more.
