About the Company

The company manufactures easy-to-prepare foods. Their product line includes drinks, breads, soups, condiments, desserts, dip mixes, salsa, meal kits, oils, dressings, cookbooks and more. They have everything from hot cocoa to Cajun Rice and Shrimp mix.

The company utilizes the multi-level marketing and direct sales business model to distribute their products. That means that Tastefully Simple manufactures the products and has an independent sales force that sells the products via word-of-mouth advertising. While the Independent Consultants find new customers, the company collects the payments, inventories the products, ships the orders, handles customer support, and pays its consultants.

The company is located in Alexandria, Minnesota. It opened for business in 1995. Tastefully Simple was started by Jill Blashack Strahan. She is the current CEO. Prior to starting the company, Jill had a gift basket business. Jill is also author of the book “Simply Shine: Stories that Stirred the Fire.”

The company has approximately 300 employees and several thousand independent consultants. The company is a member of the Direct Sales Association and Better Business Bureau. It also offers great consultant support and resources through the company website. It even provides training and recognition programs for Tastefully Simple Consultants.

The Business Opportunity

The company offers a unique business opportunity for ordinary people to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves. To get started with the company, you need a sponsor. That person is responsible for training you, helping you and motivating you.

When you register with the company, you have two options. You can become a customer or become a consultant. As a customer, you simply purchase the products from the company’s website or from the person who shared the products with you. As a customer, you pay the suggested retail price. Additionally, you don’t earn any commissions or bonuses.

On the other hand, your second option is to join as an independent consultant. When you become an independent consultant, you can earn an immediate 30% retail mark-up, cash incentives, rewards for building a large downline and commissions on repeat orders. The start-up fee is nominal; less than a couple hundred bucks if you purchase one of the starter packs.

Ways to Make Money

How do you make money with your own Tastefully Simple business? The first way to make money is to build a large customer base. When you share the products with friends and family members, you can earn an immediate 30% profit from the suggested retail price. Since the products are consumable, you can get repeat sales and earn residual commissions.

You can share the products by doing one-on-one presentations with your clients. You can also do “in home presentations” with a group of prospective clients. Or, you can simply share catalogs with friends or direct them to your personal Tastefully Simple website.

The next way to earn money is to build a team of downline consultants. When you build a team of distributors, you can earn commissions from their sales volume too. As you help them grow their business, you also grow your own business. This creates a win-win deal for everyone involved. When you reach certain milestones the company rewards you with cash incentives, leadership bonuses and trips.

The people who make the most money with the company do a few things differently than most consultants. First of all, they are their own best customers. They personally use all the products and are familiar with what the products offer. Next, the top earners have lots of customers. Most top earners have 50 to 100 or more personal retail customers. Finally, the top earners share the business opportunity with lots of prospects. As a result, they sponsor new distributors frequently and build a large downline.

If you want to succeed with Tastefully Simple, I encourage you to do the same thing. Treat your business like a real business from day one. Pretend like you have one million dollars invested in the company and never look back. Find lots of customers and look for potential business builders. If you can do that, you will build a successful Tastefully Simple business.
