Social Network Marketing Rules: Helpful Facebook and Twitter Marketing Tips

Are there social network marketing rules? In other words, are there certain things you should or shouldn’t do? Definitely. Many novice and experienced network marketers attempt to build their MLM business by utilizing social media sites such as Facebook and Twitter. However, most achieve horrible results.
Most of these networkers simply post links to their business opportunity on their Facebook wall. Or, they send a tweet to their followers on Twitter “pitching” their business opportunity. In my opinion, these are some of the worst things you can do. On the other hand, if you want to achieve success, you must have a game-plan and take a different approach. You must follow the social network marketing rules for success. That being said, here are my social network marketing rules.
1. Know Your Target Market: To succeed in network marketing, you need to know your target market. Your target market includes current networkers, people who want to get involved in MLM, and people formerly involved in MLM. Ideally, this is your best qualified prospect. People who meet the criteria I just explained are the people you want to communicate with.
2. Focus on Providing Value: Facebook and Twitter are flooded with people pitching their business opportunity. Don’t make this amateur mistake. Remember this; people in your target market don’t care about your business opportunity. But they do value good information. So, why not send out Facebook posts and tweets about helpful tips, good quotes, and valuable resources? Ideally, you want to redirect everyone to your own blog or website.
3. Build a List: The money is in the list. The single greatest asset in your network marketing business is your prospect or lead list. Your list includes your Facebook fans, Twitter followers, and Newsletter Subscribers. Your goal is to get people added to your list, and then to stay in touch with your list frequently by sending out valuable emails, messages, and tweets.
4. Drive People to Your Website or Blog: If you have your own blog, you should write a post. Next, you should put links to your post on your Facebook page, via Twitter and in your email auto-responder. This sends your fans and followers back to your website, to review your message and/or offer.
5. Don’t Spam or Annoy People: No one likes spam. Personally, I hate when one of my Facebook friends is pitching their business opportunity on my Facebook wall. If you want to get “unfriended” keep doing that. That is so unprofessional, in my opinion. It makes you appear annoying and desperate. Instead, focus on creating great information and posting links via your social media outlets.
In conclusion, we just covered my top five social network marketing rules. Ultimately, it’s up to you to develop your own success strategy. But please know that it’s much better to position yourself as an authority and to “educate “your prospects, rather than wasting all your time and money trying to sell them.
