Sell eBook Online: How to Sell More eBooks on the Internet

Lots of people are trying to sell their eBook online. Like traditional authors, most eBook authors quickly realize that it is much easier to write a book than it is to sell the book. In my opinion, if you aren’t willing to spend three times as much time MARKETING your book, as you are WRITING your book, you shouldn’t write a book or eBook to begin with. You’re just wasting your time!

The key to sell your eBook online is MARKETING. You must clearly identify your target market and you must find creative ways to reach your target market. I’ve found there are many ways to market an eBook. Common techniques include YouTube videos, article marketing, video marketing, pay-per-click advertising, joint ventures, and ezines.

I think it’s best to use a variety of techniques. But before you get started with your marketing campaign, here are a few tips to consider:

Think Like Your Customer: Spend some time and think like your customer. What types of searches to do they do online to find what your eBook has to offer? For instance, if your eBook is about marriage, what search terms do your customers type in to find marriage books. You should visit a resource such as Google’s Keyword Tool or Word Tracker to find out which keywords are best. Also, where do you customers spend time online? Which blogs and websites do they visit most? You need this basic market research so you can develop a marketing plan.

Develop a Marketing Plan: Once you’ve finished the first step, you need to develop some type of marketing plan. This will help you identify HOW and WHERE you want to advertise your eBook. For example, which websites will you buy advertising on? Will you use pay-per-click advertising? If so, which keywords will you bid on? You need to develop a simple yet effective marketing plan. Try to keep it to one or two pages.

Consider an Affiliate Program: If your eBooks sells well, you should consider turning it into an affiliate program. That means you let other people sell your eBook for you, in exchange for a portion of the profits. This is the fastest way to increase your sales.

Test Your Results: You always need to split-test your advertising to find out what is working best. If you don’t test your results, you’re wasting your money. Once you find out what works best, you can roll out a major advertising campaign.

Educate Yourself: You should constantly educate yourself about MARKETING. You should study courses, read books, attend seminars, and hang out with experience marketers. Marketing is the single most important skill you can develop, if you want to sell eBooks online.

In conclusion, you can sell eBooks online. I make a good living selling my eBooks online and I know you can too. The secret to success is to find out what people want and then create your eBook. Once you develop a good product, you need to invest your time, money and energy developing and implementing an effective marketing strategy.
