Passive Income Blog: Earn Residual Income with a Blog

by Chuck
(MD)

What does the term passive income blog frequently refer to? It is the process of earning a passive income from blogging. Passive income is income that comes in each month, for something you did one time.

Please know that earning passive income through blogging is very difficult. Although very few people will tell you that, it’s true. 99% of all blogs don’t make ANY profit, let alone a residual income. This happens for a variety of reasons, to include (1) poor content, (2) not enough content, (3) bad subject, and (4) poor search engine optimization.

Most online marketers have you believe that anyone can get rich by blogging. Some people get very rich, but most don’t. If you want to make passive income through a blog, you must make a serious time commitment. It’s not a “get rich quick” type of business model.

Most successful bloggers have been working on their blog for 2-3 years (or more). They create new content every day, or close to it, and build a large following over time. That’s the secret to success. You need to do something every day, for a few years. And most people aren’t willing to do that.

Even when you have a successful blog, not all of your income is passive income. You still need to respond to comments, post new content, answer emails, build back-links, etc. However, once your blog gets “big” enough, you can probably tone back your efforts some and do less work.

You can earn passive income on a blog by selling advertising, promoting affiliate products, selling your own products, using Google AdSense® advertising, email marketing, and a variety of other ways. I’ve found that the most successful bloggers have multiple streams of income.

Personally, I make my full time living through my blogs and websites. I’m not rich yet by any means. And I’ve probably worked more in the past year than most people work in three years. But I’m seeing the rewards for my efforts, and I know that my income will continue to compound over time. I think the reward is worth the sacrifice I have made.

If you enjoy writing, or enjoy spending your time online, the passive income blog business model might be right for you!
