Party Plans for Girls: A Neat Silpada Designs Birthday Party

My teenage daughter and I attended a first-of-a-kind birthday party just recently; not one of your typical party plans for girls birthdays, at least in my opinion. The moms in our social group are pretty budget conscious, so I was a little surprised when one hosted a Silpada jewelry party for her daughter's 15th birthday. I've been to jewelry parties before, and perhaps one or two as a birthday party, but never one for a child's birthday.
We were told not to bring a birthday present to the party with us, but that the daughter had a small list of things she was interested in. Moms were invited to stay with their daughters, of course. I told the other mom that I thought that her idea was unique. My raised eyebrows also probably told her that I thought it was expensive, too. She explained to me that the Silpada representative was going to give us all a discount on whatever we ordered for her daughter, as well as whatever we ordered for ourselves.
The party wound up being a lot of fun for our daughters and us moms. I bought a few silver pieces for myself and my daughter, and we would up getting a necklace that the birthday girl wanted for free. The hostess spent far less money hosting this party than she would have any other party for her daughter.
Now this ranks near the top of my list of party plans for girls. I have three girls, and my oldest will be turning sixteen this summer. I have already set up a Silpada party for her. I'm thinking that a Mary Kay or Arbonne party for makeovers or facials might have been good options, too. I thank my friend for opening my eyes up to this.
By the way, this is not a sales pitch. I do not sell Silpada, Mary Kay or Arbonne. I just love parties.
