Unfortunately, many of these new internet marketers quit their online efforts BEFORE they learn what it takes to succeed. I don’t want this to happen to you, so I’m going to give you a few pointers to help you succeed. Like any business venture, online network marketing has some distinct advantages and disadvantages.

Advantages of Online MLM:

• Global Audience: Instead of being limited to your local geographical region, the internet gives you the opportunity to share your business opportunity with a global audience. You now have a level playing field with anyone from any country.

• Build Business on Auto-Pilot, 24/7: With a traditional MLM business, you can only find new recruits and sponsor new distributors while you are awake. With the internet, you can grow your business 24/7, even while you sleep.

• Easy to Get Started: You can create your own blog or website for about $20. And you can create a good blog or capture page in just a couple days (or less). Simply put, it’s easy to get started.

• You Can Earn Multiple Streams of Income: Because of the internet, you can create multiple streams of income. Instead of just pitching your business opportunity, you can recommend affiliate products and earn income with Google AdSense®.

• Cost Effective: With the internet, you can tweak and streamline your business. You can test your advertising campaigns to measure their effectiveness. You can figure out what doesn’t work and eliminate that advertising method.

Disadvantages with Online MLM:

• Can Be Very Expensive: Advertising methods such as pay-per-click advertising can literally cost you a small fortune if you don’t know what you are doing. Also, there are so many people out there trying to sell you their “system” or product that will supposedly help you succeed online.

• Steep Learning Curve: Most successful online marketers will tell you that it took them 1-2 (or more) years to really learn what they were doing with their online MLM business. Others learn quickly, but you can expect some type of learning curve. Unfortunately, most people give up before they learn what it takes to succeed.

• Time Consuming: The internet can consume you. It can take over your life. Although it is a good resource, you must be aware of what activities you spend your time with while you are online.

In case you don’t already know this, the internet is flooded with network marketers. It’s sometimes hard to sift and sort through all the different websites, blogs and capture pages. Sadly, most of the websites are pretty much the same. Your key to success is to separate yourself from everyone else. Simply put, you need to find a way to be different from your competition. I recommend you look at what all your competitors are doing and then go and do the complete opposite.

Attraction Marketing

The biggest buzz in online MLM is attraction marketing. Attraction marketing is simply the process of promoting yourself, instead of your business opportunity. It’s the process of establishing yourself as a leader in the network marketing industry and providing real value to other people. That way, other people are attracted to you as a leader and want to do business with you.

Unfortunately, most people using “attraction marketing” in their online MLM business are all doing the same thing. They have a simple blog or website that is almost exactly like everyone else’s. Once again, you need to take a different approach. Let me give you one simple example about how you could be different with your online MLM business.

How to Succeed with Attraction Marketing

Let’s suppose you work for a cosmetics network marketing company. You could create a blog about “makeup.” You could teach people how to apply makeup. You could provide great videos and articles comparing different types of makeup. You could even do demos with your MLM Company’s makeup on your blog. You could call yourself the “Makeup Queen” and establish your niche. If someone is already doing that, you could be the “Skin Care Queen” and do that instead. Once again, the secret to success is to be creative.

When you follow this approach, people looking to learn more about “skin care” or “makeup” will naturally find your site from the search engines. Your content can PRE-SELL your visitors so that they want to learn more about what you have to offer. Before you know it, you will have people contacting you to ask for more information about your products or business opportunity. And that is what you want to happen. You want to become the hunted, instead of being the hunter.

In conclusion, using the internet to build your MLM business is a smart idea. Your key to success is to establish your own blog or website that brands you as a leader. If you are smart, you will study all of your competition and find a different, creative approach that separates you from everyone else. If you can do this, you will build a large following of loyal prospects, customers, and/or distributors. You will build your business on auto-pilot and generate multiple streams of income.
