Online Information Marketing: Sell Info Products on the Internet
by Chuck
(MD)
What is online information marketing? It is the process selling information products online. With the growing popularity of the internet, billions of people search the internet each day looking for answers to their questions. This presents a viable business opportunity for the self-motivated person to build their own online information marketing business.
But how do you get started? In my opinion, it’s best to pick a topic that you are knowledgeable about. You could choose your work background or even a favorite hobby. Once you brainstorm a few potential ideas, you should research each topic to find out the potential. You should look for a subject that is specific, not generic, and has a good amount of demand.
For instance, if you are passionate about horses, it’s probably best to pick a specific type of horse, rather than the term horse itself. Does that make sense? As you narrow your niche, you have a much better chance of “winning that term” with the search engines, which generates more traffic to your website.
Once you find a good topic, you must decide which type of information products you want to sell. Here are a few examples, from the horse example.
• Write an eBook about Race Horses
• Create a Pony Blog
• Create DVDs about Horse Nutrition
• Provide seminars and webinars about Horse Breeding
• Provide Coaching Services on Buying and Selling Race Horses
As you can see, you have many different options. It’s vitally important to choose a venue that you understand and want to do. If you are just getting started with online information marketing, I recommend you start a blog first.
You should do this because your blog can be your “base of operations.” Once you have a blog with lots of traffic, you can develop and sell a wide variety of information products geared around that topic.
In conclusion, online information marketing is here to stay. If you are thinking about starting a part-time business (or full-time business) you should consider becoming an infopreneur. There are plenty of opportunities to turn your experience and passions into multiple streams of online income.
