If something promises you instant success, run the other direction. As I mentioned earlier, all legitimate opportunities take time, money and energy to grow. 2. Pick something you understand and are passionate about. This is some of the most important advice I can give you. Try to find something you understand (at least a little) or are passionate about. For instance, one of the reasons I created this website is because I am passionate about direct sales. I never run out of ideas to write about. And I never get bored. 3. Don’t quit your day job. Keep your day job. Even if you start making money with your new business venture right away, keep your 9 to 5 so you have a steady income. Don’t ever risk your family’s security, in hopes of making it big with a business. You can quit your job after you make it big. 4. Find a mentor. Try to find someone who has gone before you and achieved success. The quickest way to success is to duplicate what someone else did. And it’s a good idea to have a coach in your corner. 5. Follow a system. Systems are the bedrock of any business. You need systems to help show you what to do, until you learn yourself. People are unpredictable, but systems are predictable. 6. Once you choose something, stick with it. Remember this pointer. Don’t be one of those people who jump from opportunity to opportunity every few months, in search of the next best thing. Make a commitment to stick with your venture at least two years. You need to give yourself time to learn what you are doing and eventually succeed. Rome wasn’t built in a day. Neither will your business. 7. Think long-term, but do something every day. If you have the typical employee mentality, you want immediate results. Things don’t work that way when you own a business. You have to remember that you are building equity, even if you aren’t earning an income right away. You need to think long-term, but take consistent action. These are the best tidbits of advice I can give you about choosing a particular program from the many different online home based business opportunities out there. Please know that you can succeed or fail with any program. There is no guarantee of success. While the program you choose is important, your ability to learn the ropes and follow through with the program until you succeed is much more important. I hope this helps.
