Network Marketing System What should you know about a network marketing system? Let me start by telling you that a system is a standardized way of doing something, also known as a business process. Systems are vital to the success of any business because they eliminate or reduce the human factor. When you have a good system, people don’t need to be “super” to succeed. Instead, they simply need to follow the system.

One of the major reasons so many people fail in MLM is because they don’t know what they are doing. In many cases, they don’t have any prior entrepreneurial experience. In addition, many distributors don’t receive good training from their upline. As a result, many distributors are totally clueless on how to build a successful MLM business. As a result, they get frustrated and quit.

Types of MLM Systems

There are really two different types of network marketing systems that I know of. They include (1) lead generation systems and (2) training systems. A lead generation system is a standardized way of generating leads for your MLM business. The system could include how to succeed with (1) online advertising, (2) prospecting strangers, (3) advertising in newspapers or magazines, etc. The system will provide step by step instructions on how to advertise, and will provide examples of advertisements that work. In essence, it will walk you step by step, through the entire lead generation process.

The next type of system is the training system. This is a standardized way of training your downline distributors. It could include email training, a manual, seminars, cds, books or videos. Obviously, the MLM Company will provide some training, but most successful distributors also train their downline on how to succeed. As a sponsor, you have an obligation to train your team. So, you should come up with a systematized way of doing this.

Components of a Network Marketing System

There are several components in a network marketing system (or any other system). First and foremost, there are documented steps on how to do something. The system clearly provides step by step instructions on the best way to do something. These steps are typically written in a manual, or operations book, but can also be explained in a video.

The next component of a system is training. People using the system must be trained on how the system works and how to implement the system. Typically, new folks receive some type of training or orientation on how the system works. They also receive a copy of the operations manual, etc.

A third component of a system is that it must be updated frequently. Whenever a “more effective” method is discovered, the owner will update the system.

Why You Need a Network Marketing System

All successful businesses have systems. One of the major reasons that franchises are so popular, and effective, is because they have business support systems in place. This eliminates many human errors and allows the business owner to solve problems in a standardized way. Systems are sometimes referred to as standard operating procedures or an operational manual.

You need a system in your network marketing business because (1) your time is valuable, (2) you might not have much experience as an entrepreneur and (3) you need a systematized way to build your business and train your downline. Sure, you can try to figure out everything on your own, but it is much easier to follow a system.

A good system will shorten your learning curve and help you get better results in your business. In the beginning, all you have to do is follow the system. As you develop new skills, you can do things differently (if you want). Remember, the easiest way to achieve success is to do what other successful people did. If a top distributor created a system, it makes sense to follow their system.

Where to Get a Network Marketing System

If you are currently using a system to grow your MLM business, you have a few options. You can create a network marketing system yourself. Unfortunately, for most people this is pretty hard to do. I recommend you start by calling your sponsor and find out what systems they use. If they don’t have much to offer you, keep calling people in your upline until you can find someone who can help you.

There are also some generic systems online, used by distributors from different companies. Some of these systems include Magnetic Sponsoring, Network Marketing 2.0 and My Lead System Pro. When you are evaluating different systems, you want to research (1) the cost, (2) the reputation, and (3) the ease of use. These three factors will ultimately determine whether or not the system will work well for you, and for your downline.

Final Thoughts

In summary, it’s vital to use a network marketing system. You have the option of creating one yourself, using your upline’s system, or using a generic system. There are advantages and disadvantages to using any of these systems. Your key to success is to find a system that works for you, is affordable, and can be duplicated in your downline. If you are new to the industry, I recommend you use your upline’s systems, until you learn the ropes and know what you are doing.
