MLM Website: The Different Types of MLM Websites
What is a MLM website? It can be lots of different things. There are lots of different MLM websites on the Internet. Some of the common types of network marketing websites include lead capture pages, blogs, training websites, company websites, company replicated websites and more.To be quite frank, the internet is FLOODED with network marketing websites. There are hundreds of thousands (maybe more) of different websites. Even worse, most of the websites are CRAP. Most of the websites do not have a unique, specific purpose. Additionally, most of the websites do not have a specific theme, nor are they optimized properly. In fact, most websites are nothing more than a sales pitch to get you to join their business opportunity. Simply put, very few MLM websites provide REAL VALUE to their visitors. And that’s why the websites FAIL. They don’t get many visitors. They don’t generate any new leads, customers or distributors. And they don’t generate the website owner any PROFITS. What is the purpose of spending HUNDREDS OF HOURS of your life (and thousands of dollars) to create a website that doesn’t do anything but sit there? And that is the single biggest mistake of most online network marketers. They create a website BEFORE they’ve actually sat down and created a PURPOSE, PLAN and STRATEGY for their website. They simply do what everyone else is doing. And they get the same results. They set up a free blog or use a cheap hosting service. They create a simple 3-5 page site and then spend their entire marketing budget to promote that website. And they wonder why they achieve horrible results.
Your Unique Purpose
Here’s something you need to know right now. If you are going to create your own MLM Website, you need to be unique. You need to separate yourself from everyone else on the internet. The last thing you want to do is waste your time and money creating a website that doesn’t provide VALUE to your visitors, and doesn’t accomplish what it is designed to do. If it’s one thing I learned in the Army, it’s that every hour of planning saves AT LEAST three hours in the execution process. In other words, failing to plan is planning to fail. Before you create your own MLM website, you should sit down and spend a few hours deciding what is the PURPOSE of your MLM website? In other words, what are you trying to accomplish. For instance, is the purpose of your MLM website to generate leads, brand yourself, sell affiliate products, sponsor new distributors, etc.? For example, the primary purpose of this website is to “create an online community where people can share their network marketing experiences with each other.” This is my unique selling proposition. I don’t know of any other MLM websites that allow people to do this (in the network marketing industry). Although that is my unique purpose (also known as a unique selling proposition), my website also does many other things. Because people come to my website to participate in the online community, there are also what I call second and third order effects. These are things that happen, because my site fulfills its purpose. These EFFECTS include: • Generate leads for my primary MLM business • Generate new distributors and customers for my MLM company • Earn multiple streams of income (17 total income streams) • Brand myself and my website • Don’t spend a single penny on advertising • Save me time from pitching my business (and products) to friends and family members As you can see, many good things happen when you have a specific purpose. Let me put this in context for a moment. Let me use a different example. Let’s suppose your goal is to lose weight. That is the purpose of you adjusting your diet and exercise program. What do you think will happen if you achieve your purpose? I can think of a few things. These are called second and third order effects. A few examples might include: better sex life, better attitude, more confidence, increased self-esteem, better relationships and so forth. More importantly, none of these things would happen if you didn’t set the goal (purpose) to lose weight. Does that make sense to you?
How to Build a Successful MLM Website
Once you know the intended purpose of your MLM website, that’s when it’s time to formulate a plan on HOW you will fulfill that purpose. For instance, let’s suppose the purpose of your MLM website is to generate more retail customers for your MLM business. And let’s assume your MLM Company sells weight-loss products. You could fulfill your purpose in any of the following ways:1) You could create a MLM website geared around the weight-loss theme. You wouldn’t even have to mention your company’s products. Just find good “keywords” and build a website around the weight loss theme. When people visit your site, they would get quality information about “weight-loss” and could contact you for more information. 2) Build a website about your company’s products. You could build a webpage for each weight-loss product your company offers. If you aren’t allowed to use the actual product name, you could use the product type. For instance, if one of your products was a weight-loss shake, you could create a generic weight-loss shake web-page. You could do the same for others products. If your company has 30 to 50 weight loss products, you could create a large website around the weight-loss theme. You would get plenty of visitors who are part of your TARGET MARKET. And I guaranteed you would get lots of requests for more information. You could turn many of these visitors into customers or distributors. 3) You could create a video blog highlighting your weight loss journey. You could create a blog entry once a day, covering your weight loss story. Your video could be a short one to two minute video covering what you did that day, what went well, what products you used, etc. Any one of these three methods listed above would work great, because they are unique. Very few network marketers follow these steps. If they did, they could use the power of the internet to grow their business significantly. Don’t make the mistake of using your upline’s website. Don’t make the mistake of promoting a company replicated website. Be different. Be unique. And watch what happens to your MLM business.

They should find a creative way to separate themselves from everyone else in their company who is promoting the same company replicated websites.
