How to Develop Your MLM Plan and Success Strategy

What is a MLM plan? I define it as your personal strategy to grow your MLM business. It outlines exactly what you plan to do sponsor new distributors and find new retail customers. If you want to succeed in network marketing, you must have a game-plan.

So, how do you come up with a game plan? If you are fortunate to have a good sponsor, he or she will help you create your own plan. However, most sponsors don’t spend very much time with their new distributors. In most cases, it will be your own responsibility to figure out how to develop your own game plan. That’s why so many people quit our industry. They just aren’t taught what they need to do to succeed. Therefore, I’m going to let you in on some of my secrets. I’m going to share with you some tips for success I’ve learned during the past eight years in this industry. I’m going to share with you the MLM plan I use for my new downline members.

Here is a simple MLM Plan for your first 30 days in the business.

Week One:

• Sign up as new distributor

• Place first product order

• Read information on company website and read company literature

• Buy a day-planner and schedule work hours for your MLM business. I recommend you block off 10 to 20 hours per week, depending upon your available schedule and business goals.

• Create a name list with 500 names

Week Two:

• Try out each product you ordered

• Arrange one hour meeting with sponsor to learn getting started tips

• Present your business opportunity and products (with the help of your sponsor) to three people on your name list or sponsor one new distributor

• Teach your new distributor the steps outlined above in week one

• Set up 3 appointments for the following week

• Visit the library and find two books about network marketing

• Read your network marketing book 30 minutes each day

• Listen to any telephonic or web-based company training events

• Create an email distribution list for your distributors and customers

Week Three:

• Present your business opportunity and products to your three scheduled appointments

• Call names on your name list and set up three or four appointments for the following week

• Conduct a three way call with your downline distributor and his or her prospects

• Help your downline distributor sponsor one new person and find one new customer

• Teach your new distributors the steps outlined above

• Find one new retail customer

• Read 30 minutes every day

Week Four:

• Present your business opportunity and products to your scheduled appointments

• Sponsor one new person and find one new retail customer

• Call names on your name list and set up three to four appointments for the following week

• Schedule a training session with your group of downline distributors. Have your sponsor provide the training. If they are unavailable, do it yourself.

• Read 30 minutes every day

• Spend one hour reflecting on the past month. Write down what you did right, what you did wrong and what you would do differently if you could.

After your first month in the business, you need to develop another game plan. Your MLM plan should consist of your goals and a marketing plan to accomplish your goals. The easiest way to set goals is to determine how much money you want to make or what status you want to achieve and then plan backwards. For instance, if you want to earn $1,000 per month, you should review the company’s compensation plan and figure out what that takes to do. Determine how many people you need to sponsor and how much retail sales you need. If you can do this, you will achieve success in network marketing.

Once again, this is just a sample MLM plan. By following the steps listed above in this sample MLM plan, you could easily make significant progress in your new MLM business and accomplish it in about ten hours per week. In the example listed above, you would have 2-3 new personally sponsored distributors and 2-3 new downline distributors at the end of your first month. You would also have three new retail customers. Simply put, you will have made significant progress in your first month in the business. You would also earn a couple hundred bucks.

Most network marketers don’t make any money. If you can show someone how to make a profit in their first month (or first 90 days) you have a better chance of retaining them in the business. The secret to success in any business is to have a plan and then be discipline and work your plan. If you can establish your own MLM plan and stick to it, you will succeed. There’s no doubt in my mind.

If your sponsor recommends something different than this plan, I would listen to their advice first; especially if they are a successful network marketer. If they have system that works, follow it. However, don’t follow them blindly. Do what they recommend at first, but make sure you test your results. If you do what they recommend, but don’t make any progress, you might want to modify your game plan.

In conclusion, all network marketers need their own MLM plan to help them set goals and develop a marketing strategy. If you develop a game plan and have the discipline to follow it you will achieve success. The secret is to be consistent and work your business every week. This will help you build momentum and keep it going. It’s what all successful network marketers do.

Do you have a game-plan or business development strategy you used to grow your MLM business? Do you have a standardized plan for your downline to follow?
