MLM Network Marketing Article: My Journey with Old School and Online MLM

In this short MLM network marketing article, I’d like to share a few pointers about building your business offline. Most new network marketers believe that the internet is the solution to their challenges. They think they can take their network marketing business online and get immediate success. Rather than building their business with the people they know, they think it will be easier to sponsor strangers.
I fell into this trap myself for nearly 2.5 years. I bought every course, attended webinars, bought eBooks, built websites, blogs, capture pages, wrote a MLM network marketing article for the article directories, and everything else. I was a pure internet junkie. Because I had at one time built a nice downline using old school network marketing techniques, I decided that I didn’t want to do that again. I thought the internet would be easier, with less competition. Boy was I wrong. I ended up losing thousands of dollars and thousands of hours of my life.
Sadly, my story was like most people who try MLM online. I failed. I lost my shirt. And I wasted THOUSANDS of hours of my life that I will never get back. Fortunately, I found Site Build It along the way, and that has allowed me to achieve success and build a profitable business.
However, knowing what I know now, I would have stuck to offline network marketing with the majority of my efforts, and invested whatever time I had left to online marketing.
I’m not saying that online network marketing doesn’t work. It does work. But it takes most people a couple years to learn the ropes of online marketing. Because most people expect instant results, they end up quitting their online marketing efforts after 60-90 days. However, most of the people who stick around, and go through the learning curve, achieve success.
In my opinion, working with your warm market is a much better option, especially if you are a novice. Most people know at least 300 people that they have some type of relationship with. And each of those 300 people knows at least 300 people. So, you have close to 90,000 people in your warm market. Anyone could build a successful MLM business by working with their warm market, and their warm market’s warm market.
Your key to success is how you approach people. I really recommend you create a game-plan and phone script before you start calling anyone. And I would definitely lead with the products first. That way you can generate some retail sales and make some immediate profits. If possible, I would try to get your upline or sponsor to do some three way calls with you in the beginning too. They can help you get started until you know what you are doing.
Additionally, you should make a name list of at least 300 people. Try to come up with a 1000 names. Most people never complete this exercise. I can promise you one thing though. If you come up with 500-1000 names on your name list, you will be able to build a huge business just working with people you know. As you sponsor people, just start working in depth.
Ideally, you can only work with about 5 people at a time. So after you sponsor your first five people, stop personally sponsoring for a month or so and help them achieve success. When they sponsor people, start working with those people. Never stop doing this! Keep building your business in depth forever.
Your key to success is to be disciplined, patient, and persistent. You must take daily action and treat your network marketing business like you have one million dollars invested in it. You must never stop working in depth and you always need to keep your eye open for sharp people that you meet in day to day life.
As your business grows, you can slowly combine your offline marketing efforts with some online marketing efforts. But don’t let yourself get distracted and lose focus. Always keep your eyes on your goals. Thanks for reading my MLM network marketing article.
