Why You Should Join a Mastermind Group

If you are involved with network marketing, you should belong to a MLM Mastermind Group. You don’t need to officially call it a Mastermind Group, but you do need to “rub elbows” with other successful network marketers, in order to develop your skills. I once heard that “we are who we associate with.” If we hang out with thieves, we will become a thief. On the other hand, if we hang out with successful network marketers will become a successful network marketer. Association is a powerful thing. Does that make sense?

Start Your Own Group

The best way to get started is to find someone successful in your upline and ask if they would be willing to participate in your Mastermind Group. You could also invite members of your downline to participate. If that doesn’t work, look for other network marketers that are serious about improving their skills. Please know that it doesn’t matter if they are affiliated with the same MLM Company or not. What matters most is that they are committed to their personal growth.

Once you start a group, you should give it a name, establish a code of conduct and rules, and determine when and how often the group will meet. That way, everyone understands the expectations from day one. At each meeting, you should share advice with each other. The best way to do that is to let someone different teach a class at each meeting.

Tips for Success

Your key to success is to form a group of people with different skills. For instance, if you have someone who is good at building lead capture pages and generating online leads, she could give a class on how to do that. At the next meeting, you could have one of your top retailers give a class on how to sell more retail products. Furthermore, you could have one of your top recruiters give a class on how to recruit more distributors. Are you starting to get the point?

You don’t want the same person to talk at every meeting. That’s boring. Additionally, you want to make sure your speaker is the most qualified person in your group to give the training. I’ve found that we all have different skill-sets. When you bring a group of people together, there’s almost always someone who’s an expert on a particular network marketing topic. That’s the person you want to give the class.

Your MLM Mastermind Group should meet on a regular basis. Meeting once a month is sufficient. You can meet in person, by conference call or through a webinar. Personally, I think meeting in person is the best option, because it’s personal. But if your group is scattered in different geographical areas, you must adapt accordingly.

Once you have a time and location set, it’s important that you have a clear agenda. You need to identify the topic and speaker ahead of time, so they can be prepared. If you are the Group Leader, you might even want to conduct a rehearsal with the presenter to make sure they are adequately prepared. That way, the meeting will go smoothly.

Here are some other keys to success:

• Keep your group to ten to twenty members

• Communicate frequently (use a Newsletter, Auto-Responder or Email)

• Establish a meeting frequency and stick to it

• Keep expenses to a minimum

• Develop an agenda and stick to it

• Find people with different skill-sets

• Get feedback from each other

• Always support each other

By following the advice listed above, you will have a successful MLM Mastermind Team. And you will learn new skills that help you build your business.
