In corporate America, the most successful companies focus on marketing, rather than advertising. They focus on “branding themselves” so you will like, respect and trust them. And eventually do business with them. You should take this lesson to heart and do the same thing in your MLM business.So, you might be asking yourself, “What do I need to do to become a marketing expert?” Well, that is the million dollar question. If you get nothing else from this entire website, you should remember that you need to become a marketing expert. Most people who join this industry have never been an entrepreneur before. And most people haven’t had marketing experience either. Without marketing skills, most new distributors are destined for failure. Even worse, most current MLM distributors don’t understand marketing either, so they don’t know how to teach their new distributors proper marketing techniques. Personally, I failed in three different MLM companies before I ever received even one training session on MLM marketing. As it turns out, those failures were all part of my learning process.So, back to the question, “What do you need to do to become a marketing expert?” It’s simple, you need to study marketing. You need to read every book, listen to every tape you can, and attend any marketing seminar you can find. Simply put, you need to commit yourself to business education. If you are looking for an easier answer, I can help a little bit. In order to succeed in MLM marketing you must brand yourself. Don’t make the mistake of promoting your business opportunity or products first. That’s what every other distributor in your company is doing right now. And it isn’t working for them. It won’t work for you either. Why You Need a Funded Proposal for Your MLM Business
Instead, you need to learn everything you can about something called a MLM funded proposal. A funded proposal is the best way to market anything. Simply put, a funded proposal is when you promote a low cost generic product or service, instead of your MLM business opportunity. For instance, you find an affiliate generic MLM training eBook that you can promote. Next, you simply follow the steps below.
# 1 Determine your target market. Your target market is anyone already involved in the MLM industry or anyone looking to start a home-based business. # 2 Find a generic MLM training product. Find a generic product you can promote. One of my favorites is “Magnetic Sponsoring.” # 3 Market this product to your target market. Advertise and market the generic MLM training product in places your target market will find it. # 4 Build a List. Gather everyone’s contact information. Have a system to capture names, emails and phone numbers and other pertinent information for everyone who visits your website. # 5 Sell your affiliate product to some people on your list: A portion of your prospects will purchase the product. This will offset or reduce your advertising costs. In some cases, your affiliate products sales will completely pay for your advertising. This means your advertising costs nothing. You can generate a list of prospects for free. How awesome is that? # 6 Let your affiliate sales pay for your advertising costs. As stated above, some people will purchase the generic product. This reduces your advertising costs and gives you money up front to continue your marketing efforts. # 7 Pitch your business opportunity on the back end. Pitch your business opportunity to people on your list at a later time. Your goal is to build a relationship with each person on your list before you offer your business opportunity or MLM products.We’ll cover more about the funded proposal more on other pages in our website.
