How do you create a MLM Lead List? That’s a great question. The answer is simple. You must take a proactive approach to create, update and maintain your MLM lead list. You must understand that the money is in the list. If you want a large and profitable network marketing business, you need lots of leads. In order to keep growing your lead list, you must make it a conscious effort. When you first get involved in network marketing, you are taught to make a list of everyone you know. Normally you are encouraged to brainstorm 100 to 500 names, so you have a large list of leads you can contact about your business opportunity. Since you will only sponsor a small portion of the people on your list, it behooves you to have a big list. The bigger the list, the better you will do. If your list only has 50 names, you won’t achieve much success. You might get 2-3 new distributors and a couple of retail customers. But if you can build a list of 500-1000 names, you could easily sponsor 20-30 new distributors and acquire 20-50 retail customers. Simply put, the bigger the list the better you will do. Although this isn’t the most effective way to build a downline, it is a great way to get started. Also, it’s very easy to duplicate with your downline distributors. Could you imagine how big you could build your sales organization if everyone made a name list of 500 to 1,000 people? It would blow your mind. You would be so busy sponsoring new people and signing up new customers. More importantly, you would make a lot of money too. You Must Have a List Whether you’ve been in MLM for one day or for many years, you must have a working prospect list. In other words, you must always add new names to your list. If you don’t currently have a MLM lead list you should take out a piece of blank paper or create a Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet. In the first column you should have the person’s first and last name. In the additional columns, you should have their address, phone number and email contact information. When you are first creating your MLM Lead List, you should on focus on brainstorming names. You can fill out the additional information later on. Getting Started The first thing you should do is logon to your Facebook account. You should add every one of your friends from your contact list to your leads list. Most people have at least 100 friends of Facebook, so this will give you a good start. The next thing you should do is print your list of email contacts from every email account you have. Make sure you add these names to your list. If the person’s name is already on your list, don’t add it a second time. Once you’ve finished this exercise, you should have a pretty good MLM Lead List consisting of at least 200 or more names. To build your list further, you should complete the exercise listed below. The purpose of the exercise is to help you brainstorm names. • Parents • Siblings • Cousins • Aunts • Uncles • Postal Employees • Coworkers • Church Friends • High School Friends • College Friends • Fraternity & Sorority Friends • Spouse’s Friends • Neighbors • Boss • People at your bank • People at your grocery store • People from video store • Any Entrepreneur you know • Athletes • Babysitter • Accountant • Lawyer • Car Dealership Employees • Travel Agent • Children’s Teachers • Children’s Sports Coach • Former co-workers • Your Christmas Card List • Anyone with first name starting with letter A, with B, etc. Once you finish this exercise, you should easily have another 30 or 50 names on your MLM Lead List. Contacting People on Your List After you finish building your list, you should contact everyone on the list. In my opinion, you should contact the people about your products or services first, not your business opportunity. You have a much better chance of getting new customers, than you do getting new distributors. This will also give you an immediate retail profit. And some of your customers will upgrade to distributors if they enjoy the products or are looking to start their own business. Tips for Success Your key point to success is to always add names to your MLM Lead List. You should consider your list a working document. When you meet new leads in everyday life, you should add them to your list. When people request more information from your website, you should add them to your MLM Lead List. Additionally, if you talk with your leads about your products or business opportunity and they aren’t interested, don’t cross them off your list. Instead, make a note to follow up with them six months down the road. Someone who isn’t interested in what you have to offer right now might have a change of heart later on down the road. Final Thoughts In conclusion, your MLM Lead List is your most important asset in your network marketing business. If you can always add names to your list, you will always have new prospects to share your products and services with.
