Email marketing is a very effective way to build a large downline fast. Let me open by telling you that the money is in the list. The people who make the most amount of money online are the people with biggest subscriber list. Simply put, the larger the list you have the more money you can make. The most successful network marketers focus their effort, time and money on building a large email subscriber list. They build their list with an opt-in form on their website. You’ve probably seen one before. Just about every website has an opt-in form where you can type in your name and email. To get you to do this, many websites provide a newsletter or free special report. Sometimes, you even get a free gift. Smart marketers understand the value of a lead, so they come up with an irresistible offer than entices visitors to share their contact information. MLM top earners do the same thing. The sole purpose of their website is to “capture” your contact information. They will give you a free eBook, course, or special report in exchange for your name and email. That’s why one-page websites are often referred to as capture pages. I use these same marketing techniques in my MLM business. My favorite network marketing strategy is to use MLM email. I spend most of my time trying to build a large subscriber list. I do this for many reasons, but the biggest reason was stated above. That is, the money is in the list. Listed below, I will cover some of the advantages and disadvantages of MLM email. MLM Email AdvantagesUtilizing MLM email presents several advantages. The big two that come to find is the efficiency and low-cost. You can use an auto-responder to send emails automatically. That means that emails can get sent out even while you sleep. To use an auto-responder you create pre-written messages and upload them into your auto-responder. Then you set the frequency of emails and the auto-responder takes over from there. You can work your business from any location in the world, as long as you have internet access. Next, sending emails is cheap. It’s pretty much free. Other than the cost of your auto-responder, there is no additional cost. That puts you in the driver’s seat. You won’t need to pay for postage stamps, phone calls or shipping.
MLM Email DisadvantagesAlthough MLM email is very effective, there are also some disadvantages to it. First and foremost, emails are very impersonal. People get bombarded with sales messages every day. In many cases, people will automatically delete emails from people they do not know. If you don't have a relationship with your customers, they might never read any of your MLM emails. That means you are doing a lot of work for nothing. Secondly, many emails get blocked by spam filters. If you send out 100 emails using an autoresponder, a large portion of those emails will never even get delivered. That means 100 emails, might actually equate to 80 emails. Unfortunately, it's hard to track who received your email and who didn't. I use a great auto-responder company (Aweber) and not all of my emails even get delivered. The third and final problems with most emails is that they are impersonal. Many emails sound like a sales letter. Or they have a long message. Please realize that people are busy and have short attention spans. That means you need to get your point across quickly, or your email will end up in their trash folder.
Tips for SuccessWhen you create emails, don’t try to be a writer. Instead, craft the messages as if you were talking to the person directly. That way, they come across as personal. You don’t want your message to look like a standard sales letter. Next, make sure that you use a good auto-responder. If you use a cheap or crappy one, many of your messages could get blocked by spam filters. That means your messages get blocked by the spam filters and the recipient never receives your message. Or, if it gets through it goes straight to their junk folder. Let’s assume that you worked really hard this year. In the next 12 months, let’s assume that you could build a list of 20,000 names and emails. I know that sounds like a big number, but I think it’s manageable. Over the next 12 months, you spend your time, energy and money on lead generation. You use all type of different techniques. During the next 12 months, you send plenty of helpful emails to your list. Your ultimate goal is to provide value. You educate your list and build a relationship with them. You don’t try to sell them anything and don’t try to recruit them into your business. Now, starting one year from today you decide to start monetizing your list. To keep things simple, let’s assume you get a 1% response rate for every email you send out. So, if you send out an offer to 20,000 subscribers, you can expect 200 sales. For example, you find a great MLM eBook that you earn a $20 commission on. You have your own affiliate link for the eBook. All you need to do is send visitors to your affiliate link, and the other person takes the order and fulfills it. You simply earn a commission of $20 from each sale. In this example, you would send out one email to 20,000 subscribers and get 200 sales. You would earn $20 per sale multiplied by the 200 sales. That equals $4,000 in profit for one email. Just think how much more you could earn if you sent out additional emails? Can you understand the importance of list building yet? When I first learned this, it changed my life. It can do the same for you. Just remember those three steps. They are: (1) build a list, (2) build a relationship with the list, and (3) monetize the list. That piece of advice can make you a millionaire in network marketing or any other business.
