MLM Easy Money: Is it Easy to Make Money in MLM?

What does the term MLM easy money refer to? Is it easy to make money in MLM? In my opinion, it is simple to make money in MLM, but not easy. Most people join our industry thinking they will get rich quick, typically in 60 to 90 days, without doing any work at all. That always makes me laugh. In fact, I don’t know any business model that lets someone legally get rich quick.
In network marketing, you get paid to sell products to customers and to build a team of distributors who consume the product and get customers. If you can focus exclusively on those two activities and get results, you will make a lot of money in MLM. Unfortunately, most distributors suck at those activities. The average distributor only sponsors a couple distributors, doesn’t get any customers, and normally quits in 60-90 days. Those are industry statistics.
But, the people who stick around, develop their skills, and get good at retailing and sponsoring, are the ones who make money in MLM. But, it isn’t MLM easy money. They have to work hard, pay their dues, and produce results. I once heard that this is the easiest industry in the world if you work it hard and the hardest industry in the world if you work it easy. I really believe that is the best way to describe network marketing. I don’t think I could describe it any better myself.
Typically, when you study the most successful people in our industry, you will see that they struggled for 3-5 years, before they started achieving success. That seems to be the average time frame. But, don’t let that scare you. Every type of business requires a learning curve. Every type of business is hard work. And most people aren’t willing to work hard for a long period of time, especially if they aren’t getting instant results.
In conclusion, I do believe that network marketing offers a tremendous opportunity to make lots of money. But, it isn’t MLM easy money. You won’t just sign your name to your distributor agreement and get rich quick. You will have to pay your dues, learn the ropes, and persevere. You will have to get good at finding customers, sponsoring distributors and building a team. Only then will you make the big bucks in your network marketing business.
