MLM Business Success: Marketing and Relationship Building

What is the key to MLM business success? Your key to success is to learn how to sponsor distributors and teach them how to build a team of distributors. If you want long-term MLM business success, you must become a master at marketing and building relationships. Fortunately, this is fairly easy to do.
Your first key to success is to learn marketing. There are many different ways to market your MLM business. Some of the most common methods include postcard marketing, newspaper advertising, internet advertising, and video marketing. I highly recommend you pick one strategy and stick with that strategy until you master it. Most people simply jump from strategy to strategy without giving it much time. I’ve found that it typically takes 6-12 months of doing something consistently, to get good at it.
I’d also recommend that you start with an offline marketing strategy. While the internet is glamorous and exciting, it’s much easier to market your business offline. First of all, you have less competition. Plus people are bombarded with email offers and “online pitches” every single day. Most people have their antennas up and are skeptical.
However, if you use a non-intrusive marketing strategy such as postcard marketing, you won’t have that problem. After all, how many postcards did you get in the mail this week? Compare that to how many calls and emails you got this week with someone trying to sell you something.
Once you master a marketing strategy, you will be good at generating leads. However, you need to get good at building relationships in order to convert a portion of those leads into distributors. This is fairly easy to do. My best advice to you is to get good at asking questions and listening. Find out what your prospect wants, and show them how to get it. Be a good listener. Don’t be pushy or desperate.
Offer value to your prospects. Prove it to them that you are a leader. And please realize that most people will need to go through an incubation period. That means it might take you 6-12 months to sponsor someone. But that’s okay. If you are in this business for the long haul, it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to sponsor someone.
In conclusion, MLM business success boils down to your ability to get good at marketing and building relationships. These are the top two skills of all successful network marketers. If you want to make it big in this industry, you need to do the same thing.
