Here are several things that come to mind:• Global Audience: Currently, there are more than one billion internet users worldwide. That number should double in the next few years. When you build your MLM business the old fashioned way, you are limited to your geographical area. If you live in a rural area or small town, you don’t have many people to share your business opportunity with. And even if you live in the city, you are still limited. When you take your business online, you can share your business opportunity with people on the other side of your country. Heck, you can even share you MLM business opportunity with people on the other side of the world. This creates new opportunities for you to grow a larger business. • Automated Prospecting: Leads are the lifeblood of any MLM business. When you build your business the old-fashioned way, you need to be sales oriented and have an extroverted personality to meet lots of new prospects. Even with a charming personality, you still need to approach lots of people to find a few qualified prospects. With the internet, everything has changed. You can now set up a website or capture page in just a few short hours and start generating your own leads without physically talking to anyone. Instead of approaching people, you can have people approach you about joining your business opportunity. Simply put, you become the hunted, instead of being the hunter.More importantly, your website or capture page can generate leads on auto-pilot, even while you sleep. That means you can generate prospects 24/7 without any physical effort. • Exposure: By taking your MLM business online, you will have more exposure with prospects. You can even record a video or audio presentation of you presenting your business opportunity and upload it onto your website. That means people can visit your website and watch the sales presentation without you having to physically be there. That means you can share your plan with more people, in less time. That gives you the freedom to do other things to grow your business. Think how fast your business could grow if your website showed 100 people your business opportunity presentation video every day. Do you realize how many new distributors you would sign up? After all, this business is a numbers game. You need to expose your business to hundreds of people, just to find a few winners. • Duplicatable: Let’s face it, most people will ultimately fail at network marketing. Of all the people that do fail, a large majority of these people will fail by trying to build their business the old fashioned way. Techniques such as working your family and friend list, prospecting strangers and having hotel meetings are ineffective ways to build a downline. Most people can’t build a successful network marketing business that way. Yet, that is how most people are taught to get started when they first join a company. But, you can improve your downline’s chances of success by helping them take their MLM business online. You can help them set up their own website or capture page and start generating their own leads. When you do this, it is a win-win situation for you and them. Tips for Success The secret to success in building a profitable MLM business online is to distinguish yourself from everyone else who promotes their MLM business online. I’ve found that most people are busy promoting a simple company replicated website. I know that this strategy does not work. Instead, you need to create your own capture page, blog, or website. You need to be unique. And you need to teach your downline members how to be unique. You should help each person on your team create their own unique capture page. Not only is it effective, it’s also cheap. You could get most of your downline started promoting their MLM business online for just $20 to $30 per month. That includes the price of their domain name, hosting and auto-responder. After that, their only additional cost would be advertising. The reason you need each of your downline distributors to have their own unique capture page is because “replicated” websites are rated as duplicate content by search engines. That means that they will never get ranked and show up in organic search results. This means you won’t get any free traffic to your capture page. Also, I’ve found that search engines normally won’t let you promote replicated websites with pay-per-click advertising either. Google is the strictest, but even Yahoo and MSN have tightened their advertising policies and criteria. If you have an original website or capture page, you don’t need to worry about any of this stuff. Furthermore, if you are promoting the same website as 1,000, 2,000 or 10,000 other people, you are limiting your chances of success. If someone stumbles across your website, but has previously been to a similar looking site, they will hit the back button and leave your website immediately. They’ll have the impression that they have seen your website before. You don’t want any of the above mentioned things to happen to you. Therefore, do yourself a favor and teach your downline how to create their own capture pages. Final Thoughts In conclusion, anyone can build a profitable MLM business online. There are many reasons to build a MLM business online. The most common reasons include the global audience, the automated prospecting and the ability to duplicate a website with your downline. If you take your business online, make sure you create your own unique capture page with good content, a catchy headline and an opt-in form. Never use a company replicated website.
