What does the term making money with website refer to? It’s the process of generating passive income with a blog or website.

It sounds so simple. And everyone wants to do it. With more than 100 million websites on the internet already, it’s more difficult than you think. Most people think you can just create a simple website today, and start making cash tomorrow. In most cases, things don’t work that way.

The key to making money with websites is TRAFFIC. Anyone can build a fancy website. But it takes unique skills to build a website that gets noticed by the search engines and generates lots of traffic. Most websites only get a couple visitors each day, and that is normally visits by the website owner.

Anyone can build a website that gets traffic, if they take time to learn the ropes, and work hard. More importantly, it’s a process that happens over a period of years, not something you do in a week. The keys to building a website that gets noticed include:

Good Keyword Research: This is the best advice I can give anyone. Some topics are overly competitive. That means your chance of showing up on the first page of the search engines is nearly impossible. Categories such as network marketing, work from home, weight loss and business opportunities are very crowded. You want to find a topic with a reasonable amount of search requests, but little competition. The only way to find the perfect topic is to research your keywords at sites like Word Tracker or Google’s Keyword External Tool.

Quality Content: Most websites have poor content. If you want a website that attracts traffic and pleases your visitors, you need good, original content. You have to develop your own unique writing style. You need to make your words pre-sell. That way, people will want to come back and revisit your website often.

Inbound Links: Inbound links are very important. The search engines rate websites on a variety of factors. In bound links is one of the most important factors. You want one-way links from a variety of quality websites. You need inbound links from directories, article directories and reputable websites. The more high quality, one-way in bound links you have, the better. Building links takes time. It doesn’t happen overnight.

These are the three keys to success, to making money with a website. I’ve been building websites for a few years now and most of my websites are in the top 1% of all websites. But this didn’t happen overnight. This took me time to learn what I was doing. And I made plenty of mistakes along the way.
