Internet MLM



Internet MLM What is internet MLM? And how does it work? I describe internet MLM as the process of growing your network marketing business online. Although the idea sounds great, it’s not EASY to do. I don’t say that to discourage you from taking your business online. In fact, I believe most network marketers should have some type of internet presence.

The internet is a powerful vehicle with a global audience. Network marketers are no longer limited to their local geographical area. Savvy networkers can now have access to the entire world, if they know what they are doing. Although internet MLM sounds glamorous, it is ultra competitive. Competing with the hundreds of thousands of other online network marketers is not for the timid or lazy.

If you go online and do a search for just about any network marketing term, you will find MILLIONS of results for almost every term. This means that there is lots of competition. Just about everyone today has a blog or website. Most top earners have a generic blog promoting different “marketing systems” and affiliate products. Rather than offering their business opportunity on the front end, they wait and offer it after they’ve built some type of relationship with you. That’s a good idea worth writing down.

If you’ve never built a website or blog and don’t have any marketing experience, you will go through a learning curve trying to build your internet MLM. To save you lots of headaches, I can offer you four helpful strategies.

1) You need your own blog or website: Do not EVER use a company or upline replicated website. The problem with these websites is that you don’t own the leads. The leads are uploaded into your upline’s or company’s auto-responder. And if you ever quit your company, you can’t take the leads with you. Additionally, the search engines consider replicated websites as duplicate content, which means you won’t get any free traffic from the search engines.

The second reason you need your own website is because it is your “hub of operations.” You will send your traffic and prospects to this website. Once you’ve established a relationship with them, you can send them to your company replicated website to sign up as a distributor. Does that make sense?

2) Don’t Give Up “Old School” Techniques: This business is about building relationships. After studying HUNDREDS of top earners in many different companies, I’ve found that most of them still build their business face-to-face, not online. While there are some “internet success stories” most successful networkers still use “old school” techniques.

3) It’s Not as Easy as It Sounds: Once again, all good things take time. Most people think they can set up a website and achieve overnight success. That always makes me laugh. Building a website that actually gets traffic and generates revenue takes time, money and energy. You have to learn the ropes and pay your dues. Nothing truly worth achieving comes easy.

4) Be Unique: Once again, I spend most of my days evaluating different websites and blogs. And let me tell you, most of them are pretty much the same. They promote the same opportunities, the same affiliate products and the same marketing systems. They write similar articles too. And they all compete for the same keywords. If you want to be successful, you need to be different. You need to find a way to separate yourself from everyone else online, so you can get noticed. In my opinion, the internet has done more damage to this industry than it’s done good. You might disagree with that, but that’s okay. I think the biggest damage is information overload, increased competition, and lots of crappy information. Remember, just because something is posted on the internet doesn’t make it true. You have to evaluate everything you read (including this webpage) and make your own decisions.

If you want to succeed with internet MLM, you need to combine your online strategy with your offline efforts. The real key to success is to do both. You can use the internet to generate leads and meet people, but you still need to build a relationship with each person via face-to-face or through the telephone.
