I define Internet MLM Prospecting as the process of meeting new people online and building a relationship with them. The absolute worst thing you can do is meet someone and immediately start pitching your products or business opportunity. That is the fastest way to get someone to throw up the red flag and run the other direction.
For a moment, just imagine being a woman who is being courted by a guy. Don’t you think she would run away if he brought up marriage on the first date? Or mentioned the idea of moving in together on the first date? You bet she would. Even if she likes the guy, she would run the other direction. When a guy brings up these things right away, he scares off the girl. This happens because relationship building is a process that happens over time. And you can’t rush it!
Well, the same thing happens when you pitch your products or business opportunity right away, with someone you just met; especially on the internet. When you do that, you limit your chances of success. After all, how would you like if someone you just met started pitching you on their business opportunity!
That being said, here are my favorite, top 3 Internet MLM Prospecting Tips, listed in no particular order
1) Offer Solutions to People’s Problems: The # 1 Internet MLM Prospecting Tip I can give you is to offer solutions to other network marketers’ problems. It’s a fact that most people in this industry struggle to make money, so why not be the person who provides help to others? Why not have a blog or website with some great tips? Why not promote a simple “training course” instead of pitching your business opportunity?
2) Position yourself as an Expert: You can do this by setting up your own blog or website. You can do this by guest writing on other people’s blogs or websites. You could also respond to forum questions or write articles. You could also write a 5-10 page report about a specific topic within the network marketing industry and give it away on your website. The best thing you can do is have your own generic website that promotes YOU.
3) Learn How to Write Effectively: In my opinion, there is nothing more powerful that a good sales letter. A good sales letter is persuasive, to the point, and gets a good response. It amazes me how many people don’t know how to write effectively. When you learn how to write well, your sales letter can do your work for you. A good sales letter will generate new leads, or sales for your business. If you want to find more prospects online, you should learn how to write effective sales copy. When you do this, prospects will come looking for you, rather than you trying to find them!
In conclusion, Internet MLM Prospecting isn’t really all that difficult. Your key to success is having your own website so you can position yourself as an expert in this industry. In addition, you should focus on helping other people solve their problems. You can do this by promoting “generic” MLM training products first and follow up with your business opportunity on the back-end.
