How to Build a MLM Downline: Tips with Active and Passive Closing

by mary
(nigeria)

There are two ways through which you can build MLM downline; generating leads and converting those leads into business members of your downline. The money in the network marketing industry lies on the leads; the more you recruit the more money you will make.

Therefore, 90% of your efforts have to be channeled towards learning how to “close” your leads and recruit people into your opportunity. While there may be a lot of prospects around, many network marketers lack the skill required to effectively sell a prospect into the business.

There two common methods of converting a lead into team members for the network marketing industry. They are “active closing” and “passive closing."

Active Closing: This is the process of directly selling a prospect on joining your network marketing opportunity. This could be done either on the phone or in person. Certain factors to concentrate on while using this method to build a Mlm down line include:

-Objections, you must overcome them

-You must understand the motive behind the prospect's interest in joining the networking marketing industry

-Finally, you have to indirectly help the prospect to make the decision to join the network marketing opportunity that you present

However, while it is very nice to meet prospects directly, marketers who lack the required sales skills might be leaving a lot of ‘loose ends’ in the process. Therefore, it is necessary that an experienced sales person like your sponsor or any other member of your upline is called to ‘play’ either at the first meeting or second meeting appointment with the prospect.

Despite the benefits of the active closing, prospects might find their decision pressured and may never really participate in the business. They may therefore join and drop out sooner. This does not help to build MLM downline.

Passive Closing: This is a situation where prospects are allowed to make up their mind to join an Mlm network marketing opportunity without pressuring them directly. To help make this more effective, you are required to have marketing tools to help with the selling; an intriguing lead capture page coupled with an autoresponder series that provides valuable information in a consistent manner.

Passive closing ensures that the people who decide to join your opportunity have trust in your ability to help them rise up the ladder. By presenting yourself as the leader, you attract more people and thus build a mlm downline.
