How to Become an Infopreneur

by Chuck
(MD)

Are you trying to find out how to become an infopreneur? In this short article, I will give you five simple ways on how to become an infopreneur in less than a week.

But first, let me start by telling you that an infopreneur is someone who makes a living selling information. That information can be packaged as books, eBooks, websites, videos, DVDs, CDs, seminars or just about anything else.

Listed below are the five easiest ways to get started as an infopreneur:

1. Start a Blog: The fastest and easiest way to become an infopreneur is to start your own blog or website. There are plenty of great blogging programs out there, such as Blogger® or WordPress®. I recommend you get a self-hosted account so your blog is hosted on your own domain name. The best thing about blogging is that it is inexpensive, easy to get started and really simple to do. If you decide on a blog, just make sure you write good content and you write often.

2. Write an eBook: One of the most popular infopreneuring products is eBooks. eBooks are a simple PDF document that people can download on their computer. You simply write a book in Microsoft Word® and then you edit it. Once you are finished, you convert your document into a PDF document. You can also add a cover page. You can sell your eBook on your own blog or website.

3. Host a Webinar: If you enjoy doing seminars, you can host an online seminar, which is known as a webinar. You can do this for free and then sell your eBooks and other information products at the conclusion of the webinar. Or, you can charge people a fee to attend the webinar.

4. Host a Local Seminar: If you have a captive, local audience, you can host seminars in your home town. You can team up with the chamber of commerce, the local library or with local businesses. Or you can speak for free to other organizations and sell your products and services in the back of the room.

5. Create an Audio Program: You can simply “read” your eBook out loud and record it onto an audio-program. You can sell your audio program as a CD or MP3 file on your website. Or, you can sell it at your webinars or seminars.

Simply put, getting started as an infopreneur is quite easy to do. The secret to success is to develop a game plan and then take action. At a minimum, you need your own blog or website. That should be your first step in the process.

Next, you should create your first information product and then covert that product into 2-3 different products. For instance, you can convert your eBook into an audio program and DVD. In my opinion, it’s best to pick a subject that you are knowledgeable and passionate about. That way, you have plenty of ideas and “inside information” about your topic.

Like anything in life, succeeding as an infopreneur will take some time, energy and money. However, I still think it’s the best way to start your own part-time business, while you keep your day job. Thanks for reading my article on how to become an infopreneur.
