For the purpose of this article, I’m going to explain how you can create your own affiliate products and how you can sell other people’s affiliate products. How Does Affiliate Marketing Work Please know that affiliate marketing is the process of selling someone else’s products, in exchange for a portion of the profits. On the other hand, it also means that you can create your own products and pay others to help you sell your products.Affiliate marketing is a common way of doing business that is growing in popularity. In fact, most of the leading online businesses participate in affiliate marketing. Sites such as eBay®, Amazon® and Google® allow you to participate in affiliate marketing. So do thousands of other businesses. So, how does affiliate marketing work? As I mentioned earlier, you have two options. You can create your own affiliate program or join someone else’s program. If you decide to create your own affiliate products, here’s what you should do. 1. Research your target market: Before you create an affiliate product, it’s important to find out if there is a demand for it. Most people create a product first and then try to figure out who they will sell it to. It’s much wiser to pick a market first, and find out what they want. Once you know what they want, you will know what to create. 2. Decide on product type: Once you know what product you will create, you simply need to pick a format. This could include eBooks, DVDs, seminars, training courses, webinars, etc. I think it’s a good idea to turn one product into several different formats. After all, people learn in different ways. Some will want something to read. Others will want something to watch. You get the point. 3. Develop a sales page: Once you know what your product will be, you should create your sales letter BEFORE you create the product. This is the sales copy that will be on the website where you sell your product. You should set up a simple one page website. You might even want to do some testing, before you create the product, to make sure there is plenty of demand for it. 4. Develop your product: Now that you have your sale copy done, you need to develop your product. In my opinion, should be able to develop your product in 30 days or less. Don’t be a perfectionist. Don’t wait until your product is PERFECT, before you start selling it. If it takes more than 30 days to do, you’ll probably never finish it. 5. Choose affiliate software: Once your product is finished, you need to work with an affiliate company. The most popular affiliate company is Clickbank. If you have a sales page and product done, they will take care of your order processing, find affiliates to sell it for you, pay your affiliates, etc. This is a pretty good deal, in my opinion. Most people who create their own affiliate program don’t get the results they want. Normally, that’s because they don’t have the (1) right marketing skills to promote their affiliate program, and (2) a product that other people want. You can succeed or fail with any product. In fact, your product is only a small part of your success formula. Your biggest key to success is to find QUALITY affiliates who want to join your program and sell your products. On the other hand, if you simply want to sell someone else’s affiliate products, the process is even easier. Here are the steps on how does affiliate marketing work! 1. Decide subject: If you already have your own blog or website, look for affiliate products with a similar theme. That way, you can incorporate them into your website. If you don’t have a website, pick a topic you are passionate about. 2. Do an internet search: Once you know your subject, you can start searching for affiliate products. The easiest thing to do is type in your subject name + affiliate product into a search engine. This will give you the search results with different options. You can also visit Clickbank. They have thousands of products to choose from. 3. Join the affiliate program: Once you find a product, join the affiliate program. Make sure you understand the payout structure. After all, you want a product with plenty of profit. That way you can afford to promote it. You will get you own unique URL to promote. 4. Promote your unique URL or link: Sales is a numbers game. You simply need to send a flood of targeted traffic to your affiliate link to start generating sales. You can do this with pay per click advertising, search engine optimization, email marketing, video marketing, article marketing and several other methods. 5. Test your results: You must test your results. That way you can find out what works and what doesn’t.Don’t expect to join an affiliate program and get rich overnight. It takes time to learn the ropes and develop your marketing prowess. But if you stick with it long enough you can earn a nice part-time or full-time income with affiliate marketing. In conclusion, affiliate marketing is the wave of the future. Whether you want to create your own products, or sell someone else’s products, you should get involved in this great concept. It is a great way to earn money, or even replace your full-time income.
