A home party consultant is someone who uses in-home parties to sell their product or service. In most cases, the home party consultant is involved with a direct sales company, such as Tupperware, Avon or Mary Kay. In other cases, the consultant simply sells their own goods, such as home-made jewelry, food, clothing, etc.Reasons to Get Involved In my opinion, there are many good reasons to sell goods or services via the party plan. First and foremost, party plans are an effective way to share your goods or services with 10-15 people at a time. This lets you work smart. Another great thing about the party plan is referrals. At the end of each party, you can book additional parties with excited guests. Many consultants earn $200 to $500 profit per party, which is pretty good for a couple hours work. Another good reason to become a home party consultant is for the adventure and social aspect. You can travel to different places each day and meet new people. This is a great way to socialize, make new friends and make money at the same time. Talk about a win-win situation. If you are looking for a way to supplement your income, you should consider becoming a home party consultant. As I mentioned earlier, you can sell your own products or join a direct sales company. Either business approach would work fine. What’s great about direct sales companies is that you can join for a couple hundred dollars and have immediate access to some great products. You can purchase these products at the wholesale cost and then resell them at the suggested retail cost. This is a simple and easy way to get started with your own business. On the other hand, if you are creative and enjoy designing your own products, you can do that too. For instance, my wife loves to make jewelry. She makes some beautiful pieces. And there is no doubt in my mind she could sell her jewelry via the party plan, if she wanted too. Final Thoughts In conclusion, there are many good reasons to become an in-home party consultant. This includes (1) to make extra money, (2) to meet new friends, (3) and to add some adventure to your life. If you are thinking about joining the industry, I recommend you research 5-10 different companies, before you join one. Try to find a company with products you are passionate about.
