What is a home business online system? I would define it as a documented and systemized way of doing things in your home business. I’ve found that all successful businesses have systems. The systems are a standardized way of doing things. Systems provide order, structure and direction.If you own a home based business, you need systems. If you are fortunate, your business opportunity or mentor will provide systems for you to use. If not, you will have to develop these systems yourself. Either way, you need a system to use. For instance, I’ve developed some systems for my home business. When I first started out, I didn’t have any systems. Over time, I kept a journal of what worked and what didn’t work. One day I took this information and documented my best practices. In turn, these benchmarks became my home business online system. The Four Types of Online Business Systems I’ve created four types of systems for my home business. They include: 1. Marketing Systems: Marketing is the lifeblood of any business. Ultimately, you need to effectively market your products or services if you want to make money and succeed. Even if you don’t have something for sale, you need a marketing plan to expose your business to potential prospects. 2. Lead Generation Systems: This is my system for generating leads on my websites for my home business. In other words, it is my plan for converting a portion of my visitors to leads and converting a portion of my leads to customers. 3. Training Systems: This is my system for learning new skills about my home business. It is a plan to increase my knowledge in my area of expertise. If you have a business that involves other people too (such as network marketing) you need a training system to teach them the ropes and help them get started. 4. Operating Systems: This system tells me what I need to do on a day-to-day basis in my business to maintain my website and grow my business. It is a list of the most critical tasks that I must perform and tells me when and how often I should do these tasks. Remember, a system doesn’t need to be comprehensive. It can simply be a checklist. That’s what I think works best anyway. For instance, here is my daily checklist for my online marketing system. My Eight Step Online Marketing System Step 1: Create one new page of content every day Step 2: Leave Comments of 5 blogs with a link pointing back to my new page Step 3: Post one comment in an online forum with a link pointing back to my new page Step 4: Send one tweet every day with a link pointing to my new page Step 5: Post one link on my Facebook Page every day with a link pointing to my new page Step 6: Create one video every day and submit it to a social media site such as YouTube and provide a link pointing to my new page Step 7: Content one blogger or website owner about a link exchange or opportunity to do a guest blogging Step 8: Submit my new web page to a free or paid online directory This is my eight step checklist I use for my marketing efforts. Best of all, it’s simple. And it keeps me on track, organized and efficient. I can follow these eight simple steps every day and increase my website traffic. When you follow this checklist every day, your traffic and sales will increase. Final Thoughts about Your Home Business Online System As you can probably tell, systems are important. Just think how much easier your life would be if you have systems for your home business. You could work smart, and get better results in less time. In closing, here’s something to remember. Once you develop a successful online business, and you develop a home business online system outlining what you did to achieve success, you can sell that system to others. Many novice internet marketers will gladly pay to learn your secrets. Personally, I’ve invested in several online courses to help me grow my business. They were very helpful and worth the price.
