Are there good MLM companies? Of course there are. There are also some not-so-good MLM Companies. For the purpose of this article, I’d like to give you a few pointers on how to find a good MLM Company to partner up with for the long haul. Please keep in mind these are just my opinion.
When you compare good MLM Companies with other companies, you will find a few major differences. First and foremost, good MLM companies have been around for a few years. They have a proven reputation in the industry. They’ve experienced consistent growth for at least five years, and they are typically affiliated with either the Direct Selling Association® or Better Business Bureau®.
Another thing to look for is to see how many negative things are written about the company online. Obviously, any large company will have some negative publicity. That’s impossible to avoid. However, some companies have a very bad reputation, and you can find thousands of “horror stories” all over the internet. On the other hand, some companies have very few “negative publicity articles.” I recommend you type in the word “scam” plus the “name of the company” and see what you come up with.
Another important area to evaluate is the product line. In other words, does the company manufacture quality products that provide real value to the retail customers? In other words, are they a good deal? I’m not saying they have to be the cheapest products on the market. They just have to have a high perceived value with retail customers. In other words, would you buy the products at the suggested retail price, even if you weren’t affiliated with the company?
Good MLM Companies also have a proven leadership team. You want a company with leaders who have experience growing companies, and experience in the direct sales industry. Another good criterion is financial backing. Is the company positioned for long-term growth? Does it have the financial resources to expand?
Finally, you should also evaluate the company’s systems and tools. In other words, what types of resources do they have for their distributors? Are their good tools at affordable prices? Do they offer conference calls and toll free numbers? Do they offer company replicated websites for their distributors?
In summary, our industry has many good MLM companies. Your key to success is to compare a few different companies, before you join one. Ideally, you want to evaluate (1) the product line, (2) the company leadership, (3) the company’s reputation, (4) the company’s leadership and financial backing, and (5) the system and tools. You want to find a good company that you can partner up with the long haul. I believe it’s a good idea to work with an established company that has already worked out the kinks and proven itself in the market place.
