Direct Selling Tips: How to Make More Money with Your Direct Sales Business

What are my favorite direct selling tips? Please know there are lots of simple things you can do to make more money in your direct sales business. This is such a simple business model, but people make it complicated. In this short article, I want to share five things you can do to generate more leads and more sales in your direct sales business. Let’s get started.

1. Treat Your Business Like a Real Business: It simply amazes me how many people get involved in our industry, but don’t treat it seriously. My best advice to you is to treat your direct sales business as if you had one million dollars invested in it. Treat it like a real business. Set goals. Develop a game-plan. Monitor your progress. Make continuous improvements.

2. Treat Every Customer Like Gold: Customers are the lifeblood of any business. You should treat all of your customers like gold; regardless of how much they spend on their purchase, or how often they purchase from you. Always provide world-class customers service. Write thank you cards. Follow up with your customers. Keep in touch often.

3. Schedule Your Business Activities: Everyone I know is busy. That’s why you need to get a day planner and schedule your business around your everyday life. Block off time each month to focus on important business building activities, such as prospecting, conducting party plans, meeting with customers, etc. If you don’t schedule time, you will never find time.

4. Be Consistent: You must be consistent. Don’t build your business for one week a month and then take the other three weeks off. Do something to grow your business every week, no matter what.

5. Be Your Own Best Customer: You HAVE to be your own best customer. If you owned a Ford Dealership, you wouldn’t drive a Chevy, would you? So, if your company makes something, make sure you use it. This will give you product knowledge and belief in the products. These are two very important things to have. After all, you’ll never succeed in selling something you don’t believe in yourself.
