Buy a Downline: Tips On How to Buy another Distributor’s Downline to Grow Your MLM Business

by Chuck
(MD)

Should you buy a downline? Can you? Most people don’t know that you can buy or sell a downline. While some companies prohibit it, most don’t. One of the fastest ways to build your downline, assuming you have the available cash, it to buy a downline from another successful distributor.

Some distributors choose to sell their downline for any number of reasons, such as (1) divorce, (2) loss of interest in the industry, (3) struggling with the business, or (4) they are looking for a new business venture. In any of these situations, you might be able to negotiate a price with them and buy their downline.

If you decide to do this, you will have to negotiate with the person to set a reasonable price. You also should ask if they are thinking about joining another business opportunity, and plan on raiding their downline. If possible, get them to sign a non-compete clause, so they can't "steal" the downline from you. You should also talk with a good attorney and a representative from the parent MLM Company to make sure everything is legal and legitimate.

Things to consider are the size of their downline, their monthly sales volume, their growth and attrition rates and other factors you determine. After doing your homework you can complete the deal and grow your downline quickly.

I’ve studied several distributors who built their downline quickly by purchasing other downlines. If it worked for them, it will work for you. Your key to success is to do your due diligence first, and consult with the MLM Company and a good business attorney.
