Britt World Wide (BWW) Review
Britt World Wide is an MLM Training System within the Amway Business. It produces education products to teach, coach, mentor and motivate new Amway distributors within the Bill Britt line of sponsorship. It was created by Bill and Peggy Britt.
In case you aren’t familiar with Mr. Britt, he is a legend within the Amway Business. Prior to joining Amway in 1970, he served as a city manager. Within a few short years after joining Amway, he achieved the status of Diamond in 1973. Since then, he has progressed to the status of Founders Crown Ambassador and has an enormous downline spread throughout the world.
How the System Started
Sometime in the 1970s or early 1980s, Bill Britt decided to break away from his upline diamond’s “system” so he could start his own training system for his downline. With that, he formed Britt World Wide, LLC.
Successful BWW Diamonds
BWW consists of many diamonds and thousands of distributors all over the world. Several successful diamonds within Britt World Wide include:
• Crowns Paul and Leslie Miller
• Diamonds Bill & Kaye Wallace
• Diamonds Wayne & Carol Martin
• Double Diamond Mickey and Dottie Hamlett
• Plus hundreds of other Diamonds and above
In addition to these Diamonds, many of his other downline Diamonds broke away from Bill's system to start their own training companies. Several examples include Larry and Pam Winters with LTD, John and Jennie Belle Crowe with UR Association and Kanti & Hemi Gala with Winners International. In these examples, the Diamonds are still part of Bill Britt’s downline within his Amway Business, but they don’t participate in the Britt World Wide training system.
How the System Works
What I’d like to do now is take and moment and show you how the system works.
When new distributors join Amway, they become an Independent Business Owner (IBO). As part of the registration process, they also have the option to team up with BWW. When they get started, they can sign up for tape of the week and other business support materials to train them how to build a successful Amway business.
They are also encouraged to attend monthly training seminars (at a cost) and quarterly “motivational seminars.” Several of the seminars include Dream Night, Family Reunion and Free Enterprise Day. These seminars are reasonably priced. From what I’ve found, a major seminar cost about $100 to $200. In my opinion, that’s very reasonable. If you’ve ever attended a business seminar of any kind, you understand that.
If a new IBO follows the system wholeheartedly, he can spend anywhere from $100 to $200 per month (average) on business support materials. Some IBOs spend more and others spend less. These materials have significant mark ups, which the diamonds keep as profits. Also, the diamonds share a portion of this income with their successful downline distributors (platinum’s and above). This income can be substantial.
For instance, a diamond with 500 downline distributors using the BWW system can earn a lot of money. Let me show you below:
Monthly Business Support Materials Average per Distributor: $100
Profit Per Distributor: $50
Distributors in Downline: 500
Total Profit ($50 x 500) $25,000
In this example, a Diamond with 500 distributors using the Britt World Wide system would earn $25,000 per month from the system. That is probably more than the Diamond makes with his Amway income. Please keep in mind this is just an example and the numbers could fluctuate either way.
The major controversy of the Britt World Wide System is that the Diamonds earn a large portion of their income from the business support materials. In some cases, the “system income” is 10 or more times what the Diamond makes with his or her Amway income. Personally, I don’t have a problem with Diamonds earning income from Business Support Materials. After all, they deserve to be compensated for their time.
From what I’ve found online, the biggest reason people complain about the Britt World Wide system and other Amway systems is because they feel “misled” about the business support materials. They feel as if the business support materials are required to build a successful business. And when they find out that their upline diamond makes so much money off the system, they get furious. I can understand. If I felt misled, I would be angry too.
What I Like About the System
Despite some of the negative criticism online about the Britt World Wide training system, there are many good things about it too. First of all, the system teaches you to think like an entrepreneur. Where else can you spend $100 to $200 per month to learn how to be an entrepreneur? The books, tapes and seminars also teach success principles and teach sales and marketing skills. These are all valuable skills that can be used in any business venture.
Personally, I would gladly spend a couple thousand bucks a year to learn how to succeed as an entrepreneur. What about you?
Another key point to bring up is that most new IBOs don’t do what they are taught to do. They don’t sponsor new reps, meet new prospects and sell retail products. When they fail, they blame the system. I think that’s like buying a gym membership and never using it. Why invest your time in money learning how to do something, but never go and do it?
Applying What You Learn
I would bet that more Amway distributors would succeed with the Britt World Wide system if they did what they were taught. If they applied the knowledge from the system, they could achieve huge success. After all, some people do. Some people plug into the system and achieve Diamond Status. You can’t deny that. Although most don’t, it’s not a surprise. Most people don’t follow through with anything in life. That includes marriage, health, goals, etc. Most people quit everything they start, before they reach their goal. It takes a very committed and hard-working person to build a large Amway business. In addition, it takes the same type of commitment and hard work to achieve anything in life.
In conclusion, Britt World Wide is a MLM Training System within the Amway business. The purpose of the system is to educate new Amway Distributors about how to build a successful Amway business. Although the system is criticized at times, it has produced many successful Amway Distributorships throughout the world.
On a final note, I am a former Amway Distributor. I was affiliated with the World Wide Dream Builders for 2.5 years. During that time, I had the chance to interact with many Britt World Wide Distributors. My time in the Amway business positively shaped the rest of my life. It sparked my entrepreneurial spirit and educated me about sales, marketing and MLM. I hope you can look at this review objectively.
